AS THE SHAVINGS FALL

Inspired by the interlocking patterns that wood shavings create as they fall to the floor, Dimitrios Palzis seeks to create works that please the eye and puzzle the mind. Through the human form and its relationship to its space, He explores cultural and social issues. Using the 'shavings' to both build his figures and cut them into sections — painting only the most essential parts. This distortion of perspective causes a natural blending of the subject into its surroundings, lending a surreal quality to his work.
